Happy New Year. May I wish you and your family every happiness and success in 2025. I have already been working hard this year to champion the issues that I know are important in our constituency.
Charlie covers the Witney Constituency, including the towns of Witney, Carterton, Faringdon, Burford & the surrounding villages.
Charlie Maynard is the Liberal Democrat MP for Witney, elected in 2024 to represent the towns of Witney, Carterton, Faringdon, Burford and the surrounding villages. A long-time campaigner for better local transport and sustainable development, he’s committed to giving West Oxfordshire the voice it deserves.
Charlie lives near Witney with his wife Sophie and their children. His family has welcomed refugees from Syria and Ukraine into their home, reflecting his belief in compassion, fairness, and community.
In his previous role as a District Councillor, Charlie has campaigned on issues ranging from sewage pollution to the NHS and sensible planning and infrastructure development for a number of years. Even before entering politics, Charlie was campaigning to tackle the major traffic issues on the A40 by reinstating the Oxford to Carterton rail line. As MP, his campaigns also include fair water bills for residents, backing local farmers, improving the health care availability locally, backing our highstreets and supporting residents through the cost of living crisis.

Two years of brutal civil war have turned Sudan into one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, with over 30 million people in urgent need of aid. Our new policy calls for UK leadership to end the conflict - standing with the Sudanese people.
